Thousands of people have visited the North Galway village of Glinsk, over the past ten years for the annual Glinsk song Contest or to go fishing on the state-of-the-art angling facility at Lough Loung.

They have enjoyed the friendliness of the people and stayed in their homes. In 1997 Irelands newest way-marked walk, the “Suck Valley Way” was opened in the village. Now it is the turn of Walkers to enjoy that same friendliness which has made the village famous.  Enjoy a pleasant stroll down by the mighty river Suck, the biggest tributary of the majestic Shannon. Walk in the footsteps of O’Sullivan Beare who travelled through Glinsk 400 years ago, visit the historical Glinsk Castle, seat of the Burkes or see Ballinakill Abbey dating back to St. Patrick himself.
